Doubling and Electrification of Manmad-Daund will be completed in 3-4 years: GM/SCR

: Doubling and electrification of the line between Manmad and Daund will be completed within next four and three years respectively, enabling the railways to commission more trains, according to Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railways.

“Our staff successfully completed the survey for both the facilities within six months and submitted the same to the government. In fact, doubling work has already begun between Mudked and Parbani. For the rest of the line, fund allocation is likely to be made in the upcoming budget,” he said while talking to mediapersons, here on Wednesday.

Mr. Yadav, who was accompanied by the SCR senior officials, arrived here from Mudked as part of his annual inspection, and went round the station making suggestions to authorities on local amenities.

He inaugurated a combined crew booking lobby and rest room for the running staff at the guest house. He also planted a sapling on the station premises.

He said that Nizamabad station is an important one in the SCR, which would have Wi-Fi facility from March, for the benefit of passengers.

Two trains, LTT, presently running between Mumbai and Nizamabad and another one from Secunderabad, would be extended to Karimnagar, he said.

General Manager said that all stations would have at least one foot overbridge and platforms would be raised. Four escalators would be installed at the station here in coming months, he said disclosing that three rail over bridges were sanctioned one each at Arsapally, Madhavanagar and Navipet in the district.

Mr. Yadav said that railways are ready for sanctioning any number of rail-under-bridges, provided local people came forward with requests, with the approval of the State government. A lot of development works were going on in railways, he said.

Divisional Railway Manager Arun Kumar Jain and other senior officers were present.
