South Central Railway has taken up another first-of- its kind initiative on Indian Railways by conducting a three day (23 rd to 25 th March, 2018) Leadership Development Workshop. This workshop is being held in collaboration with Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in which 52 Top and Middle Level Officers of various departments from the Zone are attending. The Workshop is being conducted as part of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SCR and ISB to collaborate Capacity Building and Research.
Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR in his address during the Inaugural session held today i.e., 23 rd March, 2018 laid emphasis on improvement of organizational strength for its service delivery capabilities and management towards making the Indian Railways, a driving force. He stated that, MOU is envisaged for holding capacity building workshop for Railway officers in the areas like performance management, strategy management and change management by ISB. It will go a long way for the organizational efficiency of Indian Railways in the future and immensely contribute to the transformational change in the organization, he added. He called upon the officers to take advantage from the workshop and focus on Human Resource Development.
Shri John Thomas, Additional General Manager, SCR expressed optimism that the Lectures, Sessions and Research activities being conducted during this workshops by ISB will infuse a fresh dynamism on SCR and inculcates new perspectives of Management towards success. Shri N. V. Ramana Reddy, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, SCR also addressed the gathering of Officers and motivated them.
Prof. Milind Sohain, Deputy Dean, ISB in his address stressed on Research, Inquiry and Managerial Action as the key elements that enable multi disciplinary thinking, to build up an Organization. He espoused the learning philosophy of the Business School, Leadership lessons and value creation.
The three day Leadership Development Workshop will broadly cover topics on Indian Railways Customer and Brand Centricity; Understanding the economic environment of policy making in India; Excellence in Leadership and Change Management and Financial Management. Shri M. Umashankar Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer, SCR and other Officials were also present during the inaugural session.
